The 617: What to watch Sunday

It’s the first Sunday in a very long time with the entire crew of locals available to watch.

Here at The 617 we try and give you related, non-home-team content to keep an eye on. The Bruins get back into it at 3 p.m. against the Flyers; the Celtics shortly thereafter at 3:30 p.m. against the Trail Blazers; and the Sox take on … those dudes in New York at 7 p.m.

So around that schedule, here’s some relevant offerings to sandwich around that big schedule:

At 4 a.m., there’s an Australian Rules Foo … wait, that isn’t right.

The Miami Heat narrowed the gap to catch the Celtics to 1.5 games by blowing out the Nuggets Saturday. At 8 p.m., Milwaukee plays the Nuggets tonight on ABC. Might be a good measure of where those teams are … Milwaukee caught a lot of breaks against the C’s Friday. Denver may be bogus. This game will provide information.

On the NHL Network at 8 p.m., Columbus and Toronto square off. Both have landed on the Bruins’ postseason slate in recent years, and could well again.

And in a throwback to yesteryear, there’s a Braves game on TBS. Atlanta is hosting the Mets. It’s a so-so game, overall, but it’s baseball. With baseball teams dropping like flies right now, and the whole MLB season seeming a little tenuous, let’s get some baseball in while we can just to be on the safe side.
